"After visiting with a local physician who advised me that there was no cure for my medical condition, and although this was not a life-threatening condition but rather a quality of life issue, I began to do my own research on the Internet. I learned of a website that was recommending a nutritional supplement to improve my symptoms. There was a physician quoted on the website validating the efficacy of this supplement. One week before my surgery I was notified that there were “issues” relating to my insurance and that it was very likely that my insurance would not cover the surgery. I called ConnectCare3 again and immediately the Patient Advocate began to contact my insurance carrier to resolve the issues. It took numerous phone calls to the insurance company, the hospital and the physician to ensure coverage, but the Patient Advocate at ConnectCare3 never gave up.
I am now fully recovered from the surgery, doing well and have my life back again. It would have been very difficult for me to conduct all the research done by ConnectCare3 to find the right physician to treat me. In addition, I would have had to spend hours trying to resolve the insurance issues and doubt that I would have had the knowledge to “navigate” the complex healthcare system had it not been for ConnectCare3.
